What is Compassion Child? Click to find out. What does Compassion Child Do? Click to find out. Coming soon - information on the church's sponsored child. What Is Sponsorship? When you sponsor a child, you care for and encourage them through prayer, letter writing and financial support. That support empowers a local church to individually and holistically meet their needs in a loving, safe community where they can learn, grow, play and dream. When you become a sponsor, you are personally connected with a child who will know your name and treasure the thought that you care about them. Your support gives a child life-changing opportunity to develop spiritually, emotionally, physically and economically. It's a relationship more powerful than poverty — changing their life and yours! http://compassion.com/SponsoranOlderChild

- Ministers of the Dyer Church
from our humble beginnings The photographs give some insight into the previous pastorial leadership of the Dyer CP Church. Some of these men served the church more than once. Also, not all pictures were available for this page. Prior to the last renovation of the church, these photographs were displayed in the back hallway. The actual prints are located in an album in the church llibrary. You may click on the thumbnail picture at the bottom of the page or scroll through all pictures by clicking on the directional arrows. - Christian Endeavor | dyer-cp-church1
Christian Endeavor The idea for the Christian Endeavor started in a discussion among members of the Upper Room Sunday School class of the Dyer Cuumberland Presbyterian Church in early 1992. The class was discussing ways of showing Christian love in the community, and serving those who are in greatest need seemed to be a good way of showing this love. Originally, through a generous rental agreement from a local businessman, a suitable building was secured. For a period of time, class members operated with class funds and donations from a few people who believed in the mission of the Christian Endeavor. In an effort to extend this service, other community churches were invited to participate. Through this effort, donations of money, used clothing, toys, and furniture increased. Additional volunteers began working as well. A board of directors, with representatives from each participating church, help to govern the operations of the Christian Endeavor. They do not charge for items in the store, nor do they have cash avaiable. They do provide food and other items for individuals and familaies who have a great need. Donations of funiture, gently used clothing, and money are always needed. Volunteers are welcomed and needed as well. The LORD has blessed this ENDEAVOR.
- Mission Committee | dyer-cp-church1
Operation Christmas Child Monthly Donations Each month, we are focusing on collecting specific items to prepare for our shoebox packing in November. Feel free to donate any of the items on the below list any time during the year but we wanted to make sure that we had enough to surpass our 30 boxes from last year! We can do it if we all work together. In November we will have our annual packing party and shoe box dedication before we mail them to bless those less fortunate around the world. For years, our change has gone to the Children's Home. The Mission Committee of has decided to use this money closer to home. The money is going to go toward our VBS program this summer. July The Mission Committee will be collecting School Supplies to be given out during Dyer School's annual Open House (date to be determined) The month of November, the giving project will be the Loaves and Fishes Project that provides hot lunches to people in the Philippines.
